Media Policy
The Global Council for Science and the Environment (GCSE) welcomes members of the press interested in covering its Virtual Annual Conference on Biodiversity, Conservation Science, and Climate Change June 21-24, 2022. To request free media access, please read the following policy and send an email to erin@gcseglobal.org with an attachment or link to your press credentials, as described below.
By accepting the code and registering for the conference, a member of the media agrees to the following:
-
That their employer or contracting organization is a public media outlet that publishes or broadcasts with regularity.
-
That they are representing an unbiased news source and observing the conference as a journalist reporting on the virtual event content.
-
That they will identify themselves as a member of the press and state their affiliation when asking questions of conference participants.
-
That in order to receive the code to register for the conference free of charge, the media representative must present verification of their press credentials or position on a journalistic publication, website, or broadcast outlet (e.g., through a link to their inclusion on the staff masthead).
In addition to free attendance for reporters, GCSE welcomes publications and other outlets to join as media collaborators in the conference. Media collaborators alert their readers/audience to the GCSE conference, and in exchange, GCSE lists the media outlets on its website as partners in promoting the importance of biodiversity, conservation science, and climate change. Organizations interested in becoming media partners should contact erin@gcseglobal.org.
